News flash: Foodies love the Intertent

Foodiesites

This just in from eMarketeer: 39 million Americans visited food sites in July 2006, up 23% from last year. It’s always nice to be part of a growth market. The above graphic shows the ten most trafficked food site. I’m sure Hedonia was next in line, but just barely skimmed below Betty Crocker. Hate her.

But lest you think foodies are flocking to McDonald’s’ website for the nutritional information, it’s merely due to their marketing relationship with the Pirates of the Caribbean sequel. Would you like fries with that? Arrr.

  • Ok this is pathetic, where is Epicurious!?

  • Exactly! Though it is nice to see Food Network topping the list…

  • I think it speaks volumes about the human condition that McDonalds is #2 and Weight Watchers is #7.
Do you want to supersize that?

  • this is great info! Agree though that it seems odd to not see epicurious listed. Although, I am now a much bigger fan of All Recipes as it really focuses on creating community and enabling users to establish a voice.

  • That’s great … but is anything *not* social networking these days? 😉
